Interest & Financing

Interest

  • marketindex pays a competitive rate of interest on all account balances.
  • The current interest rates are accessible from the marketindex trading application under the menu "Resources".
  • The rates are updated on a regular basis.
  • Interest is calculated on a second-by-second basis and credited to the relevant account daily at 15.00 hours.
  • All interest payments will be paid subject to any deductions or withholdings which ABN AMRO is required to make by law.

Financing

Buying and selling a marketindex underlying is comparable to executing a physical trade that is financed by a loan. You therefore receive income or pay financing costs on open trades.

The financing rate depends on whether your transaction is a purchase or a sale, the underlying, and other influencing factors, such as interest rates, dividends, storage and opportunity costs.

One advantage of trading via marketindex is that you pay financing costs only for the actual period of time a position is held, since financing costs are calculated on a second-by-second basis.

Financing rates are accessible from the marketindex trading application under the menu Resources. Marketindex trading is free of any other commissions or charges.
